History
250 Years of Örtlerhof History – Moments to Cherish
1766
Georg Ladurner married Maria Golser. This is the first mention of the name Ladurner at Örtlerhof. For over 200 years, the farm was involved in livestock farming, crop cultivation, and viticulture, with all its ups and downs.
1946
When my grandfather Ignaz (*1903) took over the farm after World War II, he switched from crop farming to growing apples and pears.
1947
The eldest son Ignaz was born. Along with his five siblings, they helped their parents on the farm.
1953
The first guests arrived. Our grandmother Maria (1913*) rented out 4 double rooms and a single room. The farmer’s room was panelled, becoming the living and breakfast room for guests and the family.
1956
A bathroom with a wood stove was built, and each room was equipped with a washbasin and running cold water.
1960
More and more fields were planted with apple trees. The new varieties Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, and Jonathan were introduced.
1972
In May, Ignaz junior married Thekla. On October 14, 1972, Georg was born. This marriage resulted in four children (Luis 1974, Magdalena 1975, Tobias 1982).
1973
In the fall of 1972, the old house was torn down and rebuilt. Our guesthouse now had 15 rooms, all with showers and toilets. Our parents ran the Örtlerhof with much dedication and energy. We children helped wherever needed.
1978
The swimming pool was built.
1980
Breakfast was now served "buffet-style," and in the evenings, we offered small snacks.
1983-1984
Cows were my grandfather Ignaz's great passion. After his passing, we completely gave up livestock farming. Grandmother Maria passed away in 1983.
1980-1999
Continuous small qualitative improvements were made.
1985-2010
Ignaz Ladurner served as mayor of Dorf Tirol for 25 years.
1991
A part of the barn was torn down and the family got a new home.
1992
The first computer with a hotel program was installed.
1999-2000
During this winter, the attic was removed and rebuilt, all bathrooms were renovated, and new magazines and the kitchen were created. From now on, we spoil our guests with half-board.
2003
The dining room was enlarged, and a new room was added.
2006
In December, Georg and Barbara met. Their lives changed fundamentally.
2011
Barbara worked her first summer season at Örtlerhof.
2012
Georg took over the farm/guesthouse from his parents and, together with Barbara, began running the business. Georg's siblings now have their home in addition to the guesthouse.
2013
In August, our Lotte (Charlotte) was born.
2014
The rooms on the first floor were renovated. With great attention to detail, a cozy holiday home was created.
2016
Renovations and extensions of the Örtlerhof took place. A new entrance with a bar, terrace, dining room, reception, office, kitchen, buffet, and elevator was created.
2017
In April, Klara was born, healthy and happy. In November, Georg and Barbara got married and made their love "official."
2018
Barbara became fully involved in the Örtlerhof.
2019
We renovated 13 bathrooms.
2020/21
COVID-19 took a strong hold on us. We tried to approach it with a positive mindset.
2021
Grandfather Ignaz passed away at the end of May. We are deeply saddened by his loss.
2021/22
The heated 16x6m infinity pool with massage jets was built, along with a new garden area featuring beautiful lounging spots, direct pool access with changing rooms and a day WC, new garage spaces, a new bike cellar, 2 new rooms, new employee rooms, new processing rooms for agriculture, and new storage spaces.
2022
On June 15, 2022, Mama/Grandma Thekla passed away. We are infinitely sad. We had a wonderful time together. We miss you very much!
2024/25
Courage is the power that turns dreams into reality! Construction continues! New spacious rooms, a small but fine Rebstock Spa with sauna & relaxation room, an expanded dining room & terrace, new elevator, photovoltaic system, new laundry room, and new storage rooms are coming.
